The detector is a water flood indicator for rooms (e.g. cellars, bathrooms). When water is detected between its 2 terminals, a digital output signal is generated. This can be connected to alarm systems requiring a volt free contact closure input.

Operational temperature range:-10 to +40 °C
Output: Normally open and normally closed 200 mA max.
Power supply:12 V DC ± 15% ; 2 mA
Alarm condition: water flood
supplied with 2.5m cable and screw mountings
Complies with:EN 50130-4, EN 55022

The red wire is connected to +12V and the black wire to GND. During use, if electrodes are connected by water (e.g. by a water flood), the blue wire is connected to GND and the yellow wire is disconnected from GND. If the connection stops (no water), the blue wire is disconnected from GND and the yellow wire connect to GND.
