The  AD-08  is a  four  channel  general purpose  voltage and four channel voltage-free pulse input  data-logger.  It  offers  high resolution, high accuracy readings  and is  compatible with a wide range of  analogue and digital sensors. Converters have Wi-Fi and USB  interfaces, which is ideal for remote monitoring applications.  Units incorporate a built-in web-server and require no PC application software to function; all units include 256Kb of internal memory for stand-alone operation.

Input channels

Input channels can be assigned meaningful names, have scaling applied so data can be shown in engineering units. The channel status is indicated by the symbol next to a corresponding channel. There is also a status indicator on the homepage to alert you to any problems.

These indicators show:

  • Green - Channel is healthy.
  • Yellow - Channel is currently healthy but has at some point been operating outside of its limit.
  • Red - Channel is current operating outside of its limit – if this condition persists permanent damage may occur.

The graphical interface allows the data to be displayed in various graphical formats and can be easily controlled by the toolbar below the trace.

Data logging

Data can be stored in internal memory for recall and download at a later date. The Download button shows the download data page and allows you to retrieve saved data (in .csv format). You can also clear recorded data.

The Samples Tab allows you to set which channels are logged, the log rate from 5 seconds to 24 hours and what happens when the memory becomes full - either logging stops, or new data overwrites old data. The estimated total logging time is also displayed.

Alarms

Each input can be assigned a high or low alarm threshold. An email alert can be sent when the alarm threshold is exceeded. It is also possible to configure so the iDAQ sends a daily or weekly summary email.

Console Interface

The unit can be fully configured using the console interface provided by the USB 2.0 port. To access this interface the user will need to start a third party terminal application (such as MicrosoftTM  Hyperterminal) and connect to the iDAQ emulated COM port.
